Las Vegas Strip casino signs superstar rockers for new residency

Las Vegas Strip theaters are always signing the biggest performers in the music business.

Sphere Entertainment’s  (SPHR)  Sphere Las Vegas opened its spectacular venue with one of the world’s most popular bands when it debuted in September 2023 with its initial headliner U2 with its “U2/UV Achtung Baby Live” residency, which ran for 40 sold-out shows.

After a quick four shows featuring popular jam band Phish in April 2024, the Sphere brought in Dead & Company in May 2024 for a 30-show sold-out residency. The venue wasn’t finished with supergroups as it signed the Eagles for 32 sold-out shows starting in September 2024 and set to end in April 2025.

Dead & Company is set to return for 18 more shows starting March 20, 2025, then the Sphere presents its first country residency with Kenny Chesney landing at the venue for 15 shows in May and June 2025.

Sphere Las Vegas also signed its first boy band residency, featuring 1990s superstars The Backstreet Boys’ “Into the Millennium” engagement for 15 shows in July and August 2025.

Legendary headliners perform residencies

The Strip’s music fans can catch other music legends in long-running residencies, including Osmond Brothers singer Donny Osmond at Harrah’s Showroom until June 7, 2025, and Wayne Newton’s “Wayne: Up Close and Personal” residency at the Wayne Newton Theater in Bugsy’s Cabaret at the Flamingo, through Dec. 31, 2025.

Pop superstar Barry Manilow will perform continuously in the International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas off the Strip for the rest of his career after signing a lifetime residency agreement with the casino in December 2024.

Ringo’s All Starr Band returns to the Strip

And now, rock legend Ringo Starr brings his All Starr Band back to the Venetian Theater at Apollo Global Management’s  (APO)  Venetian Las Vegas for a six-show residency on Sept. 17, 19, 20, 24, 26, and 27, 2025.

The legendary Beatles drummer’s band last performed a six-show residency at The Venetian in May and June 2024.

The current lineup of Ringo’s All Starr Band includes Men at Work’s Colin Hay, Toto’s Steve Lukather and Warren Ham, Average White Band’s Hamish Stuart, drummer Gregg Bissonette, who has recorded with David Lee Roth, and keyboard player Buck Johnson, who has performed with Aerosmith.

Official Platinum, Citi Cardmember, Artist, Live Nation, Ticketmaster, Sirius XM, and Venetian presale tickets are on sale through March 6 at 10 p.m. Pacific time. Tickets go on sale for the general public on March 7 at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Ringo’s All Starr Band debuted in 1989 with a tour that included Billy Preston as musical director, on keyboards and vocals; Joe Walsh and Nils Lofgren on guitar, Rick Danko on bass, Dr. John on piano, Clarence Clemons on saxophone, Levon Helm, Jim Keltner and, of course, Ringo on drums.

Since the first All Starr Band, Ringo has invited dozens of rock stars to tour in his band in its 36-year existence.
